The project proposes the Louis I. Kahn Educational Center on the island of Saaremaa, inspired by the site’s distinctive daylight conditions and the tall reeds that dominate the landscape. The building is conceived as a long, narrow structure that remains largely hidden within the reed field, with a roof that hovers just above the vegetation and filters light from the east and west. By minimizing its visual impact, the project creates a sequence of spatial “pockets” with soft, diffused daylight, inspired by the experience of moving through the reeds.
